Onnie Kirk | Founder of the Family Foundation Fund

SW Years: 1971-1985 

Onnie & Margienell (See) Kirk

In 1971, as a Junior at Texas Tech, Onnie Kirk accepted the challenge to be a Southwestern Bookman and it changed his life.  Onnie went on to become a Regional Sales Manager and helped to build the Family Organization in the library division covering eight states and 25 college and university campuses.  He left Southwestern 1985, but has continued his work to build families.

JT Olson | Founder of Both Hands Foundation

JT Olson | Southwestern alumJT Olson spent 23 years developing young people with Southwestern.  After leaving SW in 1997, JT partnered with Joel Broadbent (another former Southwestern sales manager) in a successful executive search firm here in Nashville.  That firm, Haystack Associates, is still going strong 10+ years later.  However, in the last year and a half JT has left Haystack Associates and is putting the skills he learned at Southwestern to work with his new passion, Both Hands Foundation.  Read More

 

Pat Dollaghan | Actor

Pat Dollaghan | Southwestern alum

Patrick Dollaghan (1970-1976) has been utilizing the skills he learned as a bookman and District Sales Manager in Hollywood for the past 30 years. 

Recently, he has been fortunate enough to have two major commercial campaigns, running at the same time, where he is their spokesperson.  Patrick shares some about his success as well as some memories of "life on the bookfield."  Read More

 

Paul Niemann | Writer/Entrepreneur

Paul Niemann | Southwestern alum

Paul Niemann first began working with inventors in 1998, and in 2003 he began writing a syndicating newspaper column called INVENTION MYSTERIES. His column is now in more than 70 newspapers.

People often ask him if he ever invented anything himself. In 1998 he invented The Impeachment Card Game, which received national media attention. Now he focuses most on his time on the writing and marketing of his stories, as well as looking for sponsors.  Read More

Dr. John F. Murray has been providing professional consulting services to help individuals, organizations and teams succeed for more than 12 years. He is a top-selling author and columnist, and frequently speaks and conducts seminars to business and sports groups on topics such as performance enhancement, mental health, fitness, wellness, and lifestyle. He is frequently invited on television and radio to discuss these issues, and his commentary appears in thousands of newspapers, magazines, and trade journals.  Dr. Murray is a rare sport performance psychologist and clinical psychologist.  Read More 

 

Terry Eastland | Author, Editor & Publisher

SW:  1967-1974  

Terry Eastland | Southwestern alum

Terry Eastland started his Southwestern career after his senior year of High School in 1967. He worked in a crew managed by Jim Moore. His sales manager was Fred Landers. Eastland sold for eight summers while a student at Vanderbilt and Oxford.  

Terry's career in journalism has flourished since he left the bookfield.  He first worked for newspapers in 1975 when he joined the Greensboro (N.C.) Record.  Terry served as Director of Public Affairs for the Justice Department and is the author or editor of seven books.  He is currently the publisher of The Weekly Standard.  Read More.
